AccountsPrep assigns income tax categories to ledger accounts by default. You don’t need to complete any setup to use MTD.
You can review and update categories if required.
When to review income tax categories
Review income tax categories if:
A ledger account uses the wrong category
You need to adjust how a transaction appears in reports
View or update a category on a ledger account
Go to Accounting, then select Chart of Accounts.
Click the account name to open the ledger details.
In Income Tax Category, select the category.
Select Save.

Categories remain hidden during normal use unless you open the ledger
Changes affect how figures appear in the Income Tax Summary
