Edit a batch or transaction

How to edit your transactions in AccountsPrep.

You can edit a batch in any status whether it is in Draft, Posted or even Deleted. You can amend the batch transactions and all its details, including the Date, Details, Reference, Account, Tag, Tax or amounts.


How to access a batch

You can access a batch entry in many ways:

Access from the original section:

  • Banks tab > Bank Accounts

    • Statements

    • Cheques

    • Deposit

  • Accounting tab

    • Cash Sales

    • Cash Expenses

    • Journals

Quick Access to all batches:

You can access all batches easily from one list single in the Accounting tab.

  • Accounting > All batches


Edit

  1. Access the batch list. (see above)

  2. Click the relevant tab depending on the batch status: Posted, Unposted, Draft or Deleted.

  3. Click the batch description in blue to view it.

  4. From the batch window, click the Edit button.

  5. Once in edit mode, you can amend the following:

    • Double-click on the relevant column to edit any existing details

    • Click Add line to add more lines

    • Click Delete to delete the full batch

    • Click the cross icon beside the transaction to delete that specific line

The example below shows the details for a posted Bank Statement batch.

📌TIPS: You can edit a posted batch and save it as a draft again. You can also edit a deleted batch to restore it as a draft or post it.
