For any Canadian customers, it's important that if you're GST registered, that your GST details are entered into AutoEntry to ensure the correct tax is applied to your AutoEntry subscription (all subscription pricing is excluding tax). All non tax registered users will automatically have the appropriate taxes applied to their subscription as off November 1st.

You must fill two options in AutoEntry:

  • GST Number (if GST Registered)

  • Tax Exempt or Not

As you are aware, with the multiple tax rates per state in Canada, different tax rates will be applied based on your state.

📎NOTE: If you're GST registered and you haven't entered your tax details into AutoEntry as below, it is assumed you're non-tax registered and the taxes will apply.

Checking your GST Registration Details in AutoEntry:

Click Settings in AutoEntry. The first page that opens will be your Subscription and Billing page. Your GST Registered status will appear there under your Account Details:

To enter your GST registration number

  1. On your Subscription and Billing page, click Change Account Details.

  2. Select Yes or No for whether you're GST registered and if you're Tax Exempt.

If you're GST registered, a box will appear for you to enter your GST number. Save your entry and select if you are tax exempt also.

  3. Once your registration number is entered and saved, it will appear greyed out. You can use the Clear GST Number option in case you enter this incorrectly.

⚠️CAUTION: AutoEntry can't check or confirm that you've entered your GST number correctly. It's your responsibility to ensure that the details entered are correct. AutoEntry is not liable for incorrect entries or any charges or penalties incurred as a result of an error.

Exiting that screen, your GST number will then be visible on your subscription page under your Account Details. If no GST registration number has been saved to your account, then 'Not Registered' will appear instead.
