A bank statement is rejected when an issue prevents data from being extracted from it while it processes in AutoEntry.

Why are bank statements rejected?

Bank statements can be rejected for the following reasons:

  • The bank statement uploaded is a photo, rather than a scanned image

  • Already uploaded previously

  • The image/scan quality is too poor for the system to extract the data

  • Uploaded to the wrong folder

  • Some crucial data is missing, preventing extraction

  • Image is a screenshot, or contains handwriting

  • File's data is corrupted or password-protected

Where can I find rejected bank statements?

Files that can't be processed by AutoEntry are stored in the Rejected folder. The number of files in the rejected folder is shown on the company homepage.

You can also access it via the Rejected tab across the top of the page when you're already in a folder.

How do I know my bank statement has been rejected?

If a document is rejected, you see a notice on the Uploaded Files and Processed Items tab of your Activity page.

Will I be charged for rejected bank statements?

You're always refunded for bank statements that are rejected. AutoEntry Credits go back into your balance automatically and you don't need to action anything.
