Making Tax Digital - Send an income tax update

Submit your quarterly income tax update to HMRC in AccountsPrep.

Send a quarterly income tax update after you activate Making Tax Digital and review your Income Tax Summary.

Open the Income Tax update page

  1. Go to Reports, then select Income Tax Summary.

  2. Select Open quarterly update.


Review the update

On the Income Tax update page, review your figures before submission.

  • Business income

  • Business expenses

  • Net profit or loss


Download the update

  • Select Download PDF and choose the file location


Send the update to HMRC

  1. Go to Send to HMRC, then select Send Update to HMRC.

  2. Select Send Update to HMRC to confirm the submission.


Check the submission status

  • Update sent to HMRC: HMRC processes your update

  • Update accepted by HMRC: HMRC marks the quarter as fulfilled

  • There was a problem sending your update: Send the update again

NOTE:

  • Review all figures before you submit

  • Send the update again if the submission fails
