You can delete one or all of your transactions when editing your batches: Bank statement, Deposits or Cheques, Sales or Expenses or Journal batches.
How to Delete a Single Transaction
You can edit and delete a transaction from any batch type, whatever the batch status (Posted/Unposted or Draft).
However, the behaviour is slightly different when editing transactions from the Reconciliation window.
Delete from a batch
Delete from a batch
When you delete a transaction from any batch, a pop-up will ask you to confirm the deletion.
Go to Accounting > All batches.
📎NOTE: You can also access a batch from the Bank or Accounting tab depending on the transaction type.
Click the relevant tab, Posted, Unposted, Draft.
Click the relevant batch and click Edit.
Click the small red 'x' icon next to the transaction to delete it.
A pop-up window asks you to confirm. Click OK.
The transaction disappears from the list.
In the batch edit window, you can save the draft, post or cancel.
📎NOTE: Once you click Save draft or Post, you won't be able to restore the transaction. If you click Cancel at that point, this will restore the transaction.
Delete from the Bank Statement Reconciliation window
Delete from the Bank Statement Reconciliation window
When deleting unposted transactions from the Bank Reconciliation window, the line will be crossed-out first to allow you to confirm or restore that line.
Go to Banks > Bank Reconciliation and select the bank account.
Select the relevant link to unposted data.
Alternatively, go to Banks > Bank Statement > Bank account > Unposted tab
Once in the Reconciliation window, click the small red 'x' icon next to the transaction to delete it.
📎NOTE: When accessing the Unposted tab from the Reconciliation window, you enter directly in edit mode.
The system will temporarily cross out the transaction, click Delete to confirm, or Restore to cancel.
Delete multiple lines
If you need to delete multiple lines within a batch, you need to click the cross for each transaction.
Alternatively you can click the Delete button to remove the entire batch.
📎NOTE: The Delete button within a batch will delete all the entries within the batch, irrespective of your selection.
📌TIP: You can also delete an entire batch either temporarily or permanently.
