You are receiving the below error message when attempting to publish an invoice.

The account period has closed and the account books cannot be updated through the QBO Services API. Please use the QBO website to make these changes.

  • QuickBooks Online integrated companies.


This error is caused by a setting in QuickBooks that is not allowing uploads for the time period the invoice is dated as.


To clear the error, you would need to reopen that date period in QuickBooks' settings, or change to invoice date on AutoEntry to a date outside of the account period and amend it afterwards in QuickBooks once published.

Once either of these options has been done, the invoice just needs to be republished!
