You are attempting to connect a company on your Sync App and are receiving the below error message.

Connection to the company could not be established. Unable to cast COM object of type 'SageDataObjects.ISDOEngine'. This operation failed because the Query Interface call on the COM component for the interface with IID '{DE4DA901-EEF8-11D0-9E5F-008048AADD4E}' failed due to the following error: No such interface supported (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004002 (E_NOINTERFACE)).

Applies To

  • Sage 50 UK&I users (2022 version onwards).


This error is typically caused by a configuration issue with the Sage program installation.


To resolve this, please do the following:

  1. Ensure the PC user profile you are using has administrator permissions. If not, you will need to contact your IT provider to complete these steps.

  2. Open your PC's search bar on the bottom left corner, type "CMD" and hit Enter.

  3. A black window will appear, and you will need to copy and paste the following command as shown below.

    regsvr32 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage\Accounts\SDO\2022\sg50SdoEngine280.dll"

  4. Follow these steps to restart your Sync App desktop service.

  5. Attempt to connect your company file via the Sync App again.
