Error: '0x80070005 (Access Denied)'

How to resolve this error when installing the AutoEntry Desktop Sync App.

When installing the Sync App, you may see the following error during the bundle caching and registration phase.

Setup Failed

One or more issues caused the setup to fail. Please fix the issues and then retry setup. For more information see the log file.

0x80070005 (Access Denied)

This typically indicates insufficient permissions—most likely due to lack of administrative rights or security software interference.

You will need to disable the settings Auto-Protect and Behavioral Protection.

Download the new setup and then try again. After the installation, you can enable the Norton settings.

To proceed with the installation of the Sync App, it may be necessary to temporarily disable certain Norton Antivirus features.

  1. Launch the Norton Antivirus application from your system tray or Start menu.

  2. On the Norton dashboard, click Device Security or select the Settings gear icon in the top-right corner.

  3. Disable Auto-Protect.

  4. Click Antivirus from the settings menu.

  5. Go to the Real-Time Protection tab.

  6. Locate Auto-Protect, and toggle it off.

  7. When prompted, select the duration, for example, 15 minutes or until restart, and click OK.

  8. Disable Behavioral Protection.

  9. Download and install the new setup.

  10. Re-enable Norton Protection.

  11. After successful installation, reopen Norton Antivirus and re-enable both Auto-Protect and Behavioral Protection to ensure your device remains secure.
