Error: 1.reference has already been used

How to resolve this error when publishing an invoice to your accounting software.

When publishing an invoice, the following error occurs if your accounting software doesn't allow duplicate references:

If the reference has already been used

You need to check the Reference in the invoice and edit it before you publish again.

  1. Unpublish the invoice.

  2. Open the invoice and edit the Reference field.

  3. Publish the invoice again.

If the reference is empty or if it's not already used

If the reference used is correct, try to refresh the connection:

  1. Unpublish the invoice.

  2. Disconnect.

  3. Reconnect.

  4. Publish the invoice again.
