ERROR: 'Unable to pay invoice'

Resolve this error when publishing a purchase invoice marked as paid in AutoEntry.

Symptom

When publishing a paid invoice, the following error can appear.

'Unable to pay invoice'

This error appears when the payment method doesn't match the supplier’s payment method in your accounting software.

AutoEntry can't publish the invoice if the payment methods differ.


Resolution

Ensure the payment method in AutoEntry matches the supplier’s payment method in your accounting software.

Example: If you have the supplier set up as cash, select Cash when marking the invoice as paid in AutoEntry.

  1. In your accounting software, check the supplier's payment method.

  2. Unpublish the invoice in AutoEntry.

  3. Select the payment method that matches the supplier settings.

  4. Republish the invoice.

    The error can still appear until AutoEntry syncs with your accounting software.
