How to resolve this error message from your Sync App if you integrate with Sage 50 or Quickbooks Desktop.

You may see the error message below on the Sync App or in the log file of the Sync App.

System.Net.HttpListenerException (0x80004005): Failed to listen on prefix

This error is typically caused by having two instances of the service running at the same time. It's easy to resolve this.

  1. Open your PC's Task Manager.

  2. Click on the Details tab.

  3. Search for all instances of the AutoEntry Desktop Sync App.

  4. Right-click on each one and select End Task.

When you re-open the Sync App again the error should now no longer appear.
