You are receiving the below error message when attempting to restart your Sync App Desktop Service.

Windows could not stop the AutoEntry.DesktopSync.Service service on Local Computer.

Error 1061: The service cannot accept control messages at this time.

Applies To

  • Sage 50 UK&I users.


This error is thrown when the restart command for your Sync App service times out on your Task Manager.


To clear this error message, you will need to do the following:

  1. Open your PC's Task Manager, select More details if it is showing the minimised view, and click on the Processes tab.

  2. Click on OCRex.Desktop.AutoEntry.Client & AutoEntry.Service.

  3. Select End Task on both.

  4. Click on the Services tab and right-click AutoEntry.Desktopsync.Service and select Start.

Once you open the Sync App again, the error should clear!
