You can use the import feature to either add new accounts or amend existing accounts.
This is a useful way to add or edit multiple accounts at once, rather than adding them individually to your chart of accounts (COA).
Go to the Accounting tab, then select Chart of Accounts.
Click Import.
Select and download one of the two templates according to your needs:
CoA Empty Template
CoA Complete Template
Check the rules and tips provided in the import page.
Fill in the CSV template, making sure to follow the format specified.
Once complete, click - Choose file - to upload the file.
Review the changes.
The page will summarise the accounts to include or exclude:
It will include all new accounts and existing accounts that you edited.
It will exclude any accounts that are unchanged.
You can Save and finish directly if there are no new accounts.
If you’re importing new accounts, click Next to assign them to the relevant category.
On the Classify new accounts page, drag and drop the account to the relevant Class.
Click Next.
Review the list of accounts.
Click Save and finish.
