Symptom

You are seeing the below error message on your company's Integration Status, or on your Desktop Sync App.

A Company Shared with Remote Data Access in Sage cannot be accessed with the Sync App when it is running as a service, please run it in console mode or stop sharing this company with Remote Data Access.

Applies To

  • Sage 50 Canada version 2021.2 onwards.

Procedure

To clear this error, you will first need to ensure you are running Sage in multi-user mode.

Next, check that your Sync App is running as a Console application, and change it to one if needs be. To do this, please do the following:

  1. Open your Task Manager (this is a pre-installed app on every PC), select the Services tab at the top, then click on Open Services at the bottom of that window.

  2. When the Services Window opens up:

  • Right-click on AutoEntry.DesktopSync.Service and select Stop.

  • Once stopped, right-click on AutoEntry.DesktopSync.Service again and select Properties.

  • Under Startup Type select Disabled.

  • Click OK.

4. The next time you attempt to publish an invoice, the error should clear!
