When you try to integrate AutoEntry with Sage 50 Accounts (UKI), you may see the following error.
Connection to the company could not be established. Desktop Connection Error: The following error occurred connecting to your Accounts Package: Unable to connect to the Sage Data Service. Ensure this computer is switched on or connected to your network. If this problem persists refer to: http://www.sage.co.uk/dataservice
This occurs when you have an ESET virus checker on the computer you have Sage 50 Accounts v30 (64-bit) installed on.
We're currently working on a fix to prevent this issue from happening. To work around the issue in the meantime, modify your ESET settings. If this doesn't work, you can install a 32-bit version of the Sage Data Objects application on the same computer that stores the Sage Accounts data.
Modify ESET settings
ESET can be configured to allow the application to work as normal. To do this, you'll need to modify your ESET settings:
📌TIP: Your IT department, or Admin user may need to configure ESET for you.
Close Sage 50 Accounts and the Sync App.
Open ESET, then click Setup.
Click Advanced Setup.
Click Web & Email.
Change SSL/TLS from Automatic mode, to Interactive mode.
Re-open the Sync App try again.
📎NOTE: After you've made these changes in ESET and started the task you were trying to complete again, a series of popups from ESET will appear. Select the option to Ignore all of these messages.
Once the task has been completed, you can change your ESET settings again and set the SSL/TLS mode back to Automatic.
To find out more about the SSL/TLS Settings from ESET, visit the ESET help centre.
