The AutoEntry Sync application allows you to sync data between QuickBooks Desktop on your desktop and the AutoEntry website. This integration means you can upload and extract all your invoices/bills/receipts and publish them directly to the company file.
📎NOTE: AutoEntry is also compatible with QuickBooks Online, which integrates directly with AutoEntry, without the need to download the AutoEntry Sync App.
We'll take you through the steps required to integrate your AutoEntry company with QuickBooks Desktop.
📌TIP: If you only require Bank Statement data extracted through AutoEntry, there’s no need to download or install the AutoEntry Sync App. You can import your statement data another way.
Install the Desktop Sync App
Before you connect to a QuickBooks Desktop company, you need to download and install the AutoEntry Sync app.
The download link for the Sync app is available below, but we recommend you read our guidance about installing the Sync App first.

Connect to QuickBooks Desktop company
📎NOTE: To complete these steps, you’ll need to login to your QuickBooks Desktop account as an admin, and make sure to open the relevant company file in there.
After you install the Sync App, open it via your Start Menu or Desktop.
In the Sync App, click Connect next to the AutoEntry company you want to link with QuickBooks Desktop.
Select QuickBooks Desktop in the drop-down menu to the top left.
Then browse to the folder of the QuickBooks Desktop company you want to connect to, or paste the folder path in the top-right field.
📌TIP: You can find the folder path by hitting Ctrl+1 in QuickBooks Desktop. The file path appears centre left in the window that pops up under File Information.
Click Connect to AutoEntry, and return to QuickBooks Desktop.
In QuickBooks Desktop, there will be a confirmation window to allow access to AutoEntry. Select the fourth option (Yes, Always).
From the pop-up window:
confirm this selection (Yes),
click Continue,
then Done on the next and final pop-up.
You're then connected.
📎NOTE: As this is a desktop application, the invoice/bill images won't publish through to QuickBooks Desktop. However, you can access all images in AutoEntry. Data remains for 7 years or as long as there’s an active subscription, giving you a full digital backup of all your transactions.
