This article will demonstrate the steps required to integrate Sage 50 US with AutoEntry.

In order for AutoEntry to be able to connect to your Sage 50 company, we have designed an application called the AutoEntry Desktop Sync App that will enable the syncing of data between your Sage 50 company and the AutoEntry website.

To set up the integration between AutoEntry and Sage 50, there are a few quick steps to follow shown in the video below and the steps are detailed further down:

Step 1

Proceed to the Integrate page available on the left hand side of your AutoEntry company homepage.

Once you click on the Integrate tab you will be brought to be page below, click 'Connect' to the right of Sage 50 US.

After clicking 'Connect', you will be brought to the Sage 50 dedicated page. From here click to 'Download Installer'.

Step 2

Once the download is complete, open the AutoEntry Sync App and you will be prompted to log in with the normal AutoEntry log in details that you would use to access the AutoEntry website.

Once logged in, you will see the below screen that will present all of the companies that you have access to within AutoEntry.

At this stage, pick the company that you would like to integrate with Sage 50 and click 'Connect' on the right hand side.

Step 3

You will be brought to a new screen prompting to enter a folder path to connect to a Sage 50 company.

Please make sure that the Accounting Software is selected as Sage 50 US from the drop-down menu at this point.

The company file path is visible at the point of opening a Sage 50 company, under the Directory column.

Step 4

Once the folder path is entered, the 'Connect to AutoEntry' button will become clickable. Once clicked, a message will pop up requesting for the authorization of the integration to be done within Sage 50.

At this point, please close and re-open the Sage 50 company file for the authorization request to be pushed to Sage 50. Once done, the authorization within Sage 50 is a once-off request to authorize AutoEntry access to the company files, and will look similar to the below.

Once the application access is approved by selecting 'Always allow access' and clicking 'OK', head back to the AutoEntry Sync App, and click to 'Connect to AutoEntry' and the connection should now be successful!

Additional Information

  • The Sage 50 US integration is only available for Sage version 2021 and 2022 using Accruals based accounting (not cash basis).
