AccountsPrep is a monthly AutoEntry add-on for accountants and bookkeepers to quickly prepare yearly accounts for clients without a digital ledger. This means you can use AutoEntry to create a trial balance to output to final accounts production. You can use theThe subscription can be used across an unlimited number of clients.

📎NOTE: AccountsPrep is best suited for clients without a ledger who do not have an accounting subscription. It's not designed to replace accounting software such as Sage Business Cloud Accounting.


How does AccountsPrep work?

You can upload bank statements to AutoEntry as you would without AccountsPrep. The extracted bank statement data is then imported into AccountsPrep, where it can be reviewed, updated and fast-coded to a chart of accounts.

You can create and match cheques and deposits as well as 'non-bank' journal entries posted.

After completing the necessary cheque and bank reconciliations, AccountsPrep includes a full range of reports such as P&L, balance sheet, trial balance, tax report, etc. It also includes export formats covering all of the major accounts production software providers such as Sage AP, CCH, IRIS, Relate, etc.

  • Up-to-date chart of accounts and export formats to match accounts production software

  • Analysis tags - A third way to analyse transactions in addition to the Chart of Accounts Codes and Tax Codes

How do I add AccountsPrep?

Once you're already signed up as an AutoEntry user, just click Settings in AutoEntry to get to your Subscription and Billing page, then add AccountsPrep to your subscription.

How do I create my AccountsPrep company?

After you've subscribed to AccountsPrep, when you go to integrate AutoEntry with accounting software, AccountsPrep will be an option to integrate with. Integrating with AccountsPrep then creates the AccountsPrep company.

Once created you'll be able to complete setting up AccountsPrep.

You'll be able to access AccountsPrep at any time as a new option under Integrate within your AutoEntry company. You'll also see it as a clickable option in the Integration Status column when viewing your company list in AutoEntry.

Can I use AccountsPrep if I'm not an accountant?

AccountsPrep is only for accountants and bookkeepers to use to prepare accounts for certain kinds of clients who don’t use a ledger. Businesses should use a cloud accounting package, such as Sage Accounting.

Which AutoEntry subscriptions does AccountsPrep work with?

AccountsPrep works perfectly with all AutoEntry subscription tiers.

Can I use AccountsPrep without an AutoEntry subscription?

AccountsPrep is only available as an add-on for an active AutoEntry subscription, and you select it as an accounting integration for client companies within AutoEntry. AutoEntry is then required in order to extract data from scanned, photographed or emailed client bank or credit card statements.

Do I pay for AccountsPrep using my AutoEntry credits?

AccountsPrep’s monthly subscription is charged outside of your AutoEntry subscription.

Does AccountsPrep have a free trial?

To keep things simple, we don’t offer a free trial of AccountsPrep.

However, AccountsPrep is a monthly subscription so if after one month it's not the right solution for you, you can cancel prior to the renewal billing date

How many client companies can I process using AccountsPrep?

You can process as many companies as you want at no extra cost, just like you can as part of your AutoEntry subscription.

Once you add AccountsPrep to your subscription, all you pay for is the data you extract within AutoEntry, and your monthly AccountsPrep subscription.
