AutoEntry releases regular updates for the Desktop Sync App to help integrate AutoEntry with the latest version of Sage 50 or QuickBooks Desktop.
When a Sync App update occurs, it will update automatically on your device, but only if you have enabled Windows updates.
If you have disabled automatic updates, you can still update the Sync App manually by following the steps below.
📎NOTE: If you’ve updated your Sage 50 account to v31 and above, you need the latest Sync App version for the integration to work. You may also need to have the latest SDO component.
How do I check if my Sync App is up to date
The latest version of the Sync App is v2.0.169.0 (released 15 dec 2025)
You can see what version your Sync App is at the top-left corner when you open the application. If you need to update the Sync App manually, follow the steps below.
KNOWN ISSUE: If you’re running the Sync App v2.0.168.0 together with Sage 50 - Version 32 you'll get an error. To resolve this, you either need to update Sage 50 to V33 or update the Sync App to v2.0.169.0.
Always disconnect and reconnect your companies to refresh the integration after an update.
How do I update the Sync App manually
📎NOTE: If your Sync App is currently v2.0.123.0 or below, the manual update won’t work. You’ll get the following error - An error occurred. Unable to check for updates, the server file failed to load. You’ll need to uninstall the Sync App fully, and reinstall it to update it.
If your Sync App version is above v2.0.123.0, you'll be able to use the manual update without having to reinstall the application.
Go to the PC that has the Sync App installed.
📌TIP: You can check the Sync App location from the AutoEntry integrates page. This should be on the same device as your Sage 50 Accounts or QuickBooks Desktop company file.
Locate the wyUpdate file in the AutoEntry folder on your PC:
To locate the file, you can search the path C:\Program Files (x86)\OCREX\AutoEntry from your File Explorer and click Enter on your keyboard.
Double-click the wyUpdate.exe file and click Run to update.
If you receive a pop-up during the update to prompt you to close any process, click Close All Processes.
Next steps - Restart the service
After a Sync App update, whether automatic or manual, you need to restart the service to get everything up and running again. If you don't, you'll like have an integration error.
Once you've reinstalled the Sync App, you’ll also need to disconnect and reconnect your companies. This is necessary to clear any error.
