Symptom

The user is receiving the below error message when attempting to publish an invoice.

There was an error when saving a Bill. QuickBooks error message: Only one a/r or a/p account allowed per transaction.

Cause

QuickBooks will not allow you to record transactions that contain:

  • Two A/R accounts

  • Two A/P accounts

  • One A/R account and one A/P account
