How to clear the error message 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object' from your invoices/bills.

When you try to create a contact or publish an invoice you may see the error below.

Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

This error is typically caused by an internal setting/piece of code being changed within your accounts package.

To clear this error, all you will need to do is disconnect and reconnect your company's integration to reset it, and then republish your invoices.

For steps, click on your company's integration type below.

Sage 50 or Quickbooks Desktop integration

These steps are for if you integrate with Sage 50 and Quickbooks Desktop via the Sync App.

  1. Disconnect and reconnect your company via the AutoEntry Desktop Sync App.

  2. Republish the affected invoices in your inbox.

Other software integration

These steps are for if you integrate with other accounting software such as Sage Accounting, Quickbooks Online, Xero, etc.

  1. Disconnect and reconnect via the AutoEntry website.

  2. Republish the affected invoices in your inbox.
