Your Auto Entry's Sync App for Sage 50 or Quickbooks Desktop is either a Service or Console Application.

If you're not sure what yours is, it's easy to check.

  1. Open your PC's Task Manager.

  2. Select the Services tab at the top and then click on Open Services at the bottom of that window.

  3. Find AutoEntry.DesktopSync.Service in this new window.

Task manager view showing the services tab and the Autoentry service.

Automatic

If the start-up type shown here says Automatic, it is a Service Application.

Disabled

If the start-up type shown here says Disabled, it is a Console Application

📎NOTE : If the black window doesn't appear as expected when starting the Sync App, it is likely that you're running in Service mode. You can easily check in the Task Manager.

The black window only applies to the Console mode. For more information, visit Restart the Sync App.

📌TIP: When installing the Sync App, it will always default to the Service mode. If you need to run the Console mode, make sure to make the changes manually in the task manager. You need to do this every time you install the sync app again. Change Sync App Start-up Type to 'Console' or 'Service'
