When you use the Sync App for your integration, you may need to change the start-up type to a Console or Service application. The start-up type will depend on whether the Sync App is on a shared network or local device.

This can be necessary if the application set up isn’t correct and you're receiving an error message.

You can check the current Sync App type from the top left corner of the application when open.

How to change the Sync App startup mode

📎NOTE: If any option isn't available, you may require administrator rights for your computer to make these changes.

  1. Open your computer's Task Manager:

  2. Select the Services tab at the top, then click Open Services at the bottom of that window.

    Services tab within Task Manager.

  3. When the Services Window opens up, right-click on the AutoEntry.DesktopSync.Service and select Stop.

  4. Once stopped, right-click AutoEntry.DesktopSync.Service again and select Properties.

  5. Under Startup Type, select the relevant option according to your setup type:

    • Select Automatic - to run the Sync App as a service - if you’re running it on a local device

    • Select Disabled - to run the Sync App as a console if you are on a shared network

Disabled option for Startup Type within the DesktopSync service.

  6. Click OK.

  7. Open the Sync App again and ensure you’re able to view your company list.
