When you try to update the AutoEntry Sync App, the following error can appear intermittently.

'An error occurred. Unable to check for updates, the server file failed to load':

When you click Show details, you see the following message:

'Error trying to save file: Error downloading "htttps//:s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/autoentry-desktopsync-updates/Release/wyserver.wys": The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden.'

This error message occurs if your Sync App is on v2.0.123.0 or below. The automatic update can only work with later versions.

To resolve this, you need to:

  1. Uninstall the Sync App.

  2. Restart your PC.

  3. Install the Sync App again.

  4. You need to reconnect your companies.

After you reinstall the Sync App to a version beyond v2.0.123.0, it will update automatically if you allow it in your settings. If you disable automatic updates, you can update the Sync App manually without having to reinstall the application.
