When you publish an invoice, the following error can occur:

The operation has timed out.

This error is typically caused by a temporary time-out in the connection between Sage and AutoEntry, normally as a result of slow network access.

You need to reconnect your integration, or if you use the Sync App, close and reopen it.

Resolution

The steps differ if you use the Sync App or not with your integration. Be sure to follow the relevant steps depending on your integration type.

Sync App (Sage 50 or QuickBooks)

If you have the timed out error, you need to close the Sync App and reopen it again.

You can simply close or quit the application, but it's most effective if you end the task from the Task Manager. This will make sure you end all the processes in the background.

Make sure you close the Sync App on the correct device. You can check the Sync App location from the integration page.

  1. Open your PC's Task Manager, select More details if it’s showing the minimised view,

  2. Click the Processes tab.

  3. Click OCRex.Desktop.AutoEntry.Client and AutoEntry.Service.

  4. Select End Task on both.

📎NOTE: If you don't see the process here, it means the Sync App isn’t running, you've already closed or ended the application. In this case, you can skip this step.

  5. Open the Sync App again and ensure you’re able to view your company list.

📎NOTE: The error will still show at this point. You can ignore this message until you publish an invoice successfully.

  6. Unpublish and republish any affected invoices.

📎NOTE: Once an invoice successfully publishes to Sage 50, the error will clear.

Sage Accounting

If you have the timed out message when integrated with Sage Accounting, you need to disconnect and reconnect from the Integrate page.

  1. Click the Integrate button, located on the left-hand side of your company's homepage.

NOTE: If you don’t have access to this button, this means you don't have the permissions. You need to check with the account-holder.

  2. Click Disconnect, near the top of the page (pictured below).

Once you click it, it will disconnect directly.

Once disconnected, the page will show the list of accountancy packages we integrate with, allowing you to select yours to reconnect.
