When you integrate AutoEntry with Sage 50 Accounts, the following error can appear.

'Connection to the company could not be established. Sage 50 is not installed on this machine, or the libraries required to access Sage 50 company files are not properly installed.'

This error appears when the Sync App can't connect to Sage 50 Accounts company data. Connection issues happen when:

  • The Sync App version doesn't match Sage 50 Accounts

  • Required components, such as SDO, are missing or outdated

  • The Sync App setup doesn't match the company file location

To resolve this, follow the steps below.

Refresh the connection

  1. Update the Desktop Sync App to the latest version.

  2. Close and reopen Sage 50 Accounts.

  3. Open the Sync App, then select Refresh.

Check the company file location

The Sync App setup depends on where you store the Sage 50 Accounts company file.

  • If the file is on a local drive (C drive), use Service mode

  • If the file is on a shared network (D, E, S drive), use Console mode

If the setup doesn't match the file location, the Sync App can't connect. Find out how to change the Sync App start-up type.
