You have installed and set up the AutoEntry Sync App, and are receiving the below error message when attempting to integrate your company.

Access to the path xxxx\SETUP.DTA is denied.

Applies To

  • Sage 50 users.

  • QuickBooks Desktop users.

  • Company filepaths located on a shared folder/network.


This error will occur if the permissions are not configured properly for the shared folder where your company's data path is located.


In order to successfully connect your company to Sage 50 or QuickBooks Desktop in this instance, you will first need to configure the folder permissions where the company data is stored so the Sync App has permissions to view and write to this folder.

This can be done through your Task Manager by following this guide. If you have difficulty completing these steps, we would advise asking your IT provider for further assistance.
