AccountsPrep is now available via Sage for Accountant - Client Management. Once you've activated the subscription from your clients' profile, you can access the product and use it together with AutoEntry.

📎NOTE: You can also sign up to AccountsPrep from within AutoEntry as a standalone product. However, the standalone version doesn't work with Sage for Accountants and won't include the Making Tax Digital feature.

About the integration with AutoEntry

When you add AccountsPrep as a subscription from SFA, this will automatically set up the company in AccountsPrep and integrate it with AutoEntry. (You need to make sure you add AutoEntry as a product from the client's profile).

The subscription with AccountsPrep includes credits allowing to process documents within AutoEntry.

You can then use both products together and navigate between the two workspaces straight away.

📎NOTE: If you already have an AutoEntry subscription (as standalone), that account will be separate and cannot be linked.

Step 1 - Activate AccountsPrep

To activate AccountsPrep from SFA, you need to add AutoEntry as a product and subscribe to AccountsPrep from Client Management:

  1. Access or sign up to Sage for Accountants.

  2. Access your Client Management workspace.

  3. From the client's profile, go to Products and Manage your subscription to activate AccountsPrep as a subscription.

  4. Optional: You can also connect to AutoEntry from the Products list for the integrated features to work fully. (No separate subscription required)

For more detailed steps, visit Activate AccountsPrep in Client Management (Sage Help).

📎NOTE: Check the Sage for Accountant pricing page.

Step 2 - Access

Once set up, you can only access AccountsPrep / AutoEntry from your client profile within Sage Client Management.

📎NOTE: The AutoEntry login page doesn't apply to SFA users.

Step 3 - Set up your company within AccountsPrep

Once you can access AccountsPrep, we advise you to configure your Default settings, set up the Chart of accounts and Opening balances.

For more details, check Set up your AccountsPrep Company.

Step 4 - Using AccountsPrep and AutoEntry

For any help using AccountsPrep, visit the AccountsPrep Help centre.

For any help using AutoEntry, visit the AutoEntry help centre.

Help Content

The content in the help centre is based on AutoEntry / AccountsPrep as a standalone product. You can use this content as the features are mostly the same when you sign up via SFA.

However, there are small differences around the navigation and some of the settings you need to be aware of:

Not available via AccountsPrep standalone

The Making Tax Digital (MTD) - Income Tax feature is currently in development and will only be available within AccountsPrep via SFA. This feature won't be available in the standalone version.

Not available via SFA integration

Some pages or settings that are available within AutoEntry as a standalone product aren’t available when integrated via SFA. You can use the equivalent setting from within Sage for Accountant instead.
